The Second Annual Hive Hustle - 5k Road Race and 1 Mile Fun Run

Saturday September 9th, 2023.

5K - 9:00am - $25/person before race day

1 Mile Fun Run 9:30am $20/person before race day

The 5K Starts below the tennis courts at the Commons, and the Fun Run starts inside the Commons (700 Scenic Hwy Lookout Mtn TN 37350)

Together with The Atticus Foundation, we are once again raising money for our Mountain Schools - Fairyland Elementary, Lookout Mountain School, as well as the scholarship funds at Good Shepherd School, and MDO at LMPC.

The Hive Hustle is a community event where everyone can take part! You can run or walk the 1 Mile or the 5K, volunteer to help with setup/water, be a corporate or private sponsor, or line the race route and cheer on the runners! The Hive is passionate about Lookout Mountain, Community, Health, Fitness, and Kids! This event combines all of those things together, and we are so excited to be organizing the First Annual Hive Hustle.

Children 3 and Under are Free and do not need to be registered.

If you register for the 5K and your children are registered for the Fun Run, you may run the Fun Run with them (better run fast. It starts at 9:30!) and you do not need to re-register yourself.

All donations and registrations are to the Atticus Foundation, a registered 501c3, and will be tax deductible.

Sponsorship Levels

Corporate sponsorship money will be donated to the two Lookout Mountain Elementary Schools (Fairyland and LMS) and the scholarship programs at LMPC and Good Shepherd. The funds will be divided as a 40/40/10/10 split, with the 40/40 being awarded to the elementary schools and the 10/10 to the preschool scholarship funds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the race route?

The 5K will start below the Commons, head North along Scenic up the hill (it’s the only uphill, we promise!) past the TN City Hall, turning left down N Watauga. Past the Hive, then right at Cafe of the Corner heading towards the Georgia state line. Across the 4-way stop and along Lula Lake to the new GA City Hall, looping around the City Hall to turn around and head back along Lula Lake, finishing by passing the Post Office and ending below the Commons.

The Fun Run will start inside the Commons, doing one loop of the track before heading out the East gate onto Scenic and following the same path as the 5K up the hill, left on N Watauga past The Hive, and then turning left at Cafe on the Corner to head down Scenic to the finishline (which is the same finishline as the 5K0

Will There Be Water?

Yes! We will have water stations along the race route, with volunteers handing out water.

Can I Run With My Stroller?

Yes! Strollers are welcome!

Will I Get A T-Shirt?

T-shirts will be handed out when you pick up your race packet. We will do our best to have a shirt for everyone who registers, but we cannot guarantee a t-shirt.

I’m Not A Runner. Can I Walk?

Of course! Walkers are welcome in both the 5K and the Fun Run. If you plan to walk the 5K, please don’t be at the front of the pack at the starting line though!

Can I Run With My Dog?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate dogs in the 5K or the Fun Run. Your furry friend is welcome to join the onlookers cheering on the runners though!

Where is the best place to watch the race?

Anywhere along the race route! The Fun Run and the 5K all go along N Watauga past the Hive, and all go back along Scenic past the Post Office, so if you want to see both events, those are good spots to choose.

Can I register on race day?

Yes! Registrations are ongoing online up until race day, and on the morning-of we will have volunteers registering runners/walkers at the Pavilion

Where do I pick up my race packet?

On the packet pickup days (to be announced closer to the time), you will pick up at The Hive 124 N Watauga Lane. ON RACE DAY, pickup is at The Commons at The Pavilion. 700 Scenic Hwy.
